The Lobsterfest street fair which takes place annually in Key West, Florida has been cancelled this year.
But wait, there is still a ray of sunshine on the horizon...Florida lobster season has NOT been cancelled. If you are a sport diver or love to scuba, you can enjoy Florida’s Mini Season which begins at 12:01 a.m., July 29 and ends on July 30 at 11:59 p.m. in Florida’s coastal waters. The regular eight month lobster season runs from August 6, 2020 to March 31, 2021. Be sure you have the right gear and a license and you just may bag your limit. If you’re not an underwater hunter you will most likely be able to order a spiny crustacean from your favorite restaurant menu...there will be plenty of lobsters for all to enjoy.
